An American Robin pauses from preening their feathers and looks back over their shoulder at the camera. They are standing on a gray-brown branch with peeling bark, studded with lichen. Leaves move in and out of focus both in front of and behind the robin; the sky appears a greenish-yellowish-blue from all the new spring leaves emerging from the surrounding trees.
